Due to the shortening of development cycles, the use of computer-based developments and simulations is becoming increasingly important. Nowadays, numerical calculation methods are very successfully used to optimize processes with a simultaneous enhancement of product quality, leading to significant cost reduction. These methods are also suited for the implementation and development of new processes or materials.
In the field of computer aided engineering, we focus on the development, dimensioning and optimization of complex manufacturing and forming processes. Problems in all common forming processes can be accessed by numerical methods. Amongst others the dimensioning of tool systems, the process development and the prediction of the product quality even on the microstructural level are the most promising fields of application for computer aided engineering. The simulation of the extrusion process is one of our core competences
