After a long drive, a loss of air pressure was detected in the right front tire, caused by a crack in the aluminum rim. Similar damage had already occurred on the right rear tire the previous year. The inspection revealed a crack approximately 20 to 35 mm long on the rear rim flange, which had caused irreparable damage to the rim in question. Damage from hitting a curb was deemed unlikely due to the absence of impact marks and deformation. The likely cause was considered to be notches in the rim flange, which may have been created during tire installation and contributed to the formation of the crack under varying loads. Given the recurring nature of the damage, it was recommended that the two remaining rims be inspected.
